Dimitroula, Pinelopi, Faculty, 2nd Grade
Ms. Pinelopi Dimitroula was born and raised in Athens, Greece, and has pursued her education and professional career in both Greece and the United States.
Ms. Dimitroula holds a master's degree from Touro University in New York, with dual specialization in Early Childhood Education and Students with Disabilities. She is licensed by the State of New York in both areas of specialization. She also obtained additional certification for Upper Elementary School after completing coursework through Touro College and successfully passing the New York State Teacher Certification Examinations.
Ms. Dimitroula lived and worked in New York for 14 years, gaining extensive experience in education. She worked for the New York City Department of Education in a variety of roles, including shadow teacher, teacher's assistant, and teacher. Her experience includes both general and special education settings, where she worked with a diverse student population ranging from Gifted and Talented students to students with severe disabilities.
In addition, Ms. Dimitroula is a certified and registered Behavior Analyst and a member of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BCBA). She has consulted with the New York Board of Education, providing guidance and behavioral support to teachers across several schools.
Ms. Dimitroula has also participated in numerous seminars and professional development workshops, including Pedagogical Approaches to Infants and Children, Discrete Trial Training (DTT), and Self-Injurious Behavior.
Prior to pursuing her career in education, Ms. Dimitroula earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Athens University of Economics and Business (ASOEE). She continued her graduate studies at Pace University in New York, where she earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
At 曹留社区, Ms. Dimitroula serves as one of the advisors for the Elementary School Honor Code Club, a student-led activity group that promotes the school's core values of being Respectful, Responsible, and Ready through a variety of student-created initiatives.
Ms. Dimitroula is thrilled to continue her work at 曹留社区 for her 8th year!
