Dr. Liana Tsigaridi holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Patras, graduating top of her class and receiving an award from the State Scholarships Foundation. She pursued two concurrent M.Sc. degrees: one in Applied Mathematics at the Technical University of Athens and another in Astrophysics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). She completed a Ph.D. in Astronomy and Applied Mathematics at NKUA, specializing in Galactic Dynamics, supported by a full scholarship from the Leventis Foundation.

Alongside her academic achievements, Dr. Tsigaridi holds degrees in Music and Dance, plays piano and viola, and has been a member of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Athens since 1991.

Her research experience includes participation in programs funded by the Academy of Athens in collaboration with the Research Center for Astronomy and Applied Mathematics. She has contributed to peer-reviewed publications, presented at academic conferences, and served as a visiting researcher at the European Southern Observatory in Munich, working on the "Galactic Potential Extraction" project.

With over 20 years of teaching experience, Dr. Tsigaridi has been a faculty member at 曹留社区 since 2017 and has served as an IB Mathematics examiner since 2021. This academic year, she teaches IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (AA) at both Higher and Standard Levels, as well as Algebra 2 & Trigonometry Honors, while also serving as Mathematics Division Chair for Grades K–6. Beyond her teaching and leadership responsibilities, she contributes to the 曹留社区 community as a CAS Advisor, Senior Class Advisor, and Mathematics Competition Coach for the Grades 6–8 MathCounts Competitive Team. 

Dr. Tsigaridi is committed to helping students develop not only an understanding of mathematics, but also a lasting appreciation for its significance and beauty.

Dr. Stamati earned both her Bachelor鈥檚 and Master鈥檚 degrees through the extended program in Applied Mathematics and Science Studies at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). She later completed a second Master鈥檚 degree in Applied Mathematics with a specialization in Mathematical Analysis. Driven by her passion for the field, she pursued a Ph.D. in Systems Theory at NTUA, supported by a full scholarship from the Papakyriakopoulos Foundation.

Her research has been published in leading international journals, including IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control and Systems & Control Letters. During her doctoral studies, she taught at NTUA鈥檚 School of Applied Mathematics and Science Studies, the University of West Attica, and the School of Engineering Officers of the Greek Army. After completing her Ph.D., she served as a Visiting Professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in the Department of Economics, a Scientific Associate at the University of West Attica, and an Instructor at the School of Greek Navy Cadets. Her teaching portfolio includes Calculus, Linear Algebra, Optimal Control, Higher Mathematics, and programming with MATLAB and Mathematica. She has also contributed to research programs on the design and implementation of mathematical algorithms.

Since joining 曹留社区 in 2013, Dr. Stamati has been an active member of the school community, serving as ECIS Ambassador, Co-Coordinator of the Professional Development Team, IB Council Advisor, and Math Circles Content Leader. Her dedication was recognized with the University of Chicago鈥檚 Outstanding Educator Award. She has presented at numerous international conferences, including the ECIS Leadership Conferences, and continues to serve as an IB Examiner.

In the upcoming academic year, Dr. Stamati will be teaching IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (Higher and Standard Level) as well as AP Calculus.聽

Dr. Stamati holds the position of the Mathematics Division Chair for grades 7 - 12.

Adamantia Kyriaki Strimenopoulou holds a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in mathematics from the University of Patras and a Master鈥檚 degree in Mathematics Education & Methodology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She views mathematics not simply as a school subject, but as a dynamic language for exploring, understanding, and interpreting the world.

Last year, Ms. Strimenopoulou served as a Math Studio Specialist at the Elementary school, a role that deepened her experience in designing and implementing engaging, inquiry-based math experiences for young learners. This position allowed her to work closely with students and educators, nurturing mathematical thinking through hands-on exploration, problem-solving, and collaboration.

聽Alongside her work in the Math Studio, she led the after-school Math Circles program for students in grades 3鈥�5, guiding them in preparation for Math Olympiad contests and fostering deeper mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills through enrichment activities. She also worked with high-achieving students in the Advanced Learners Program (ALP), where she provided targeted instruction to prepare them for accelerated progression in mathematics in the upcoming academic year.聽聽

Throughout her career, Ms. Strimenopoulou has worked with a wide range of student populations, including children from low-income backgrounds, refugee communities, and multilingual learners. She is deeply committed to equitable, inclusive education and has contributed to several educational organizations serving students with diverse needs.

Her professional journey is marked by continuous learning. She has completed a variety of training programs in educational robotics, STEM, informatics, intercultural education, and strategies for supporting students with learning differences.

Guided by Galileo Galilei鈥檚 belief that 鈥淭o understand the Universe, you must understand the language in which it's written鈥攖he language of Mathematics,鈥� Ms. Strimenopoulou brings passion, purpose, and curiosity to every learning environment.

This year, she will be working with Elementary School students in the Math Studio as the Math Studio Coordinator. In this role, she looks forward to supporting a vibrant culture of mathematical inquiry and collaboration across the school. She is excited for a rewarding and productive year!

Dr. Prodromidi earned a B.Sc. in Cell & Molecular Biology from the University of Essex, UK. She then continued her graduate studies at Imperial College London, UK, where she obtained a M.Sc. in Immunology and a Ph.D. with a full scholarship in Renal Medicine and Stem Cell Biology. She has worked in research and her scientific work has been presented in conferences world-wide, and has been acknowledged numerous times with international awards, such as the Best New Scientist (2006, UK). She has also published articles in scientific journals and co-authored books.

After the completion of her post-graduate studies and since her return to Greece, Dr. Prodromidi has worked both as a research scientist and an educator. To her, teaching means inspiration, creativity, and even a challenge to pass on knowledge and ethos to every student. Her teaching experience ranges from middle school students through university students.聽 Additionally, she has co-authored the textbook and the handbook of research entitled "Revolutionizing K-12 Blended Learning through the i2Flex Classroom, a novel pedagogical approach of teaching and learning first established at 曹留社区. Dr. Prodromidi is an IB examiner in Biology and has been a Faculty member at 曹留社区 teaching IB Biology and IB Environmental Systems and Societies since 2010. Currently, she is also the Chair of Division of Science K-12 at 曹留社区.

Eleni Sousounis, an experienced educator from the United States, holds a Master鈥檚 degree in the Art of Teaching with a specialization in Moderate Special Needs from Regis College in Massachusetts.

With 15 years of experience working with students from Kindergarten through 8th grade, Ms. Sousounis has taught a range of core subjects, with a particular passion for Science. She has worked with both neurotypical and neurodiverse learners, tailoring her teaching approach to meet the diverse needs of her students.

This year at ACS, Ms. Sousounis is especially excited to bring her enthusiasm for hands-on, engaging Science activities to the Elementary School Science Lab, where she looks forward to sparking curiosity and inspiring students through dynamic, interactive learning experiences.

Mr. Thymianos holds a B.Sc. in Physics with a specialization in Astrophysics, Astronomy, and Mechanics. During and after his undergraduate studies, he actively participated in numerous space-related projects, including the construction and launch of Greece's first High Power Model Rocket.  

Mr. Thymianos has been a passionate Science and Mathematics educator since his early academic years, with experience teaching a variety of curricula at the secondary level. He strives to go beyond traditional teaching methods by organizing innovative projects for his students and engaging them in international competitions. Notably, he and his students earned second place nationally in a STEAM competition. He has also participated in conferences and seminars around the world, constantly seeking to improve and evolve as education and the world change.  

Mr. Thymianos embraces the quote by B. Franklin: "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn."

Having taught in various institutes and international schools in Greece and Spain, he is currently teaching at 曹留社区, where he serves as the Technology Division Chair and instructs courses in Physics 1, Computer Science 8, and Algebra 1.

Dr. Evan Syropoulos is an accomplished educator, researcher, and an IB and AP Capstone-certified teacher, with a unique interdisciplinary academic background spanning English Literature, Critical Theory, and the Performing Arts. He earned his BA in English Language and Literature (1995), his MA in English Literature and Culture (1999), and his PhD in Musical Theater (2008) from the School of English Language and Literature of Aristotle University. He conducted postdoctoral research and/or taught literature and theater courses at Aristotle University, Ghent University (Belgium), and Goldsmiths College (University of London). His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals in Greece, Belgium, and the UK.聽

His commitment to advancing his teaching methodology led him to become a College Board-certified AP Capstone teacher in 2017, after training at McBride High School, Long Beach CA. In 2019, he further honed his skills at the AERO Summer Institute at Marymount University, Virginia, receiving training in the English Language Arts AERO standards.聽

In 2016, he began his impactful journey at 曹留社区, initially working as the Writing/Research Studio Coordinator and then primarily teaching IB English A: Literature, IB English A: Language and Literature, and IB Theory of Knowledge. In 2019, he joined the 曹留社区 Institute as Fellow, designing and teaching an online course in English Literature for 曹留社区 Virtual. From September 2022, he also serves as Division Chair of Language and Literature. This year, he teaches IB English A: Literature Yr. 1 and Yr. 2 and IB English A: Language and Literature Yr. 2.

Currently, Dr. Syropoulos is also collaborating with Ms. Sophia Thanopoulou on the development of the Inquiry and Performance Learning Model (IPLM). This endeavor marries his love for literature, theater, and teaching, underscoring his commitment to pioneering effective and engaging teaching methods.

Dr. Chen was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. She earned a B.S. in Medical Laboratory and Biotechnology from Chung Shan Medical University in 1998, followed by an M.A. and Ph.D. in Immunology from National Taiwan University in 2007. During her doctoral studies, she mentored graduate and doctoral candidates, providing guidance in experimental methods, grant writing, and academic thesis development in both Chinese and English.

Her professional background extends beyond academia. Dr. Chen has served as a European representative for a Taiwanese pharmaceutical company and worked extensively as a professional Chinese-English translator. These roles strengthened her cross-cultural communication and global perspective, but it was through teaching that she found her true calling. Before joining 曹留社区, she gained valuable experience teaching Chinese to both children and adults in Athens, Greece, further refining her expertise in language pedagogy.

Since 2018, Dr. Chen has taught Chinese Language and Literature in both Middle School and High School at 曹留社区. As World Language Coordinator, she focuses on curriculum alignment, instructional innovation, and program development across languages, ensuring cohesive, rigorous, and inclusive learning pathways for students. She also previously advised the Chinese-Greek Intercultural Club, fostering intercultural dialogue and global citizenship.

Dr. Chen is dedicated to advancing world language education, inspiring students not only to achieve academic excellence but also to embrace empathy, cultural understanding, and lifelong learning.

Venie Gaki was born in Ioannina, Greece, and holds a Master鈥檚 Degree in Applied Linguistics from the Hellenic American University (HAU) as well as a Bachelor鈥檚 Degree in Classics from the University of Ioannina. During her undergraduate studies, she completed a one-year course in Classics at the University of Liverpool, UK. In 1998, she earned a Certificate in Advanced Methodology in Teaching English as a Second Language from the Hellenic American Union in Athens, and has been a TESOL-certified instructor ever since.

With extensive teaching experience, Venie has been a member of the 曹留社区 faculty since 2007, where she has taught English, Greek, and Social Studies. She has also taught Latin through the IIC, as well as History and Greek Language & Literature to IB students enrolled in the Greek Isotimia Program at 曹留社区.

Writing is one of Ms. Gaki鈥檚 greatest passions, allowing her to channel her creativity into plays, poems, song lyrics, and educational texts in both Greek and English. Many of her works are designed to enhance children鈥檚 understanding and retention of the languages they learn. For her Social Studies classes, she has adapted and simplified instructional materials for Middle School students with limited English proficiency, ensuring content is more accessible and inclusive.

Her Master鈥檚 dissertation focused on the role of Social Studies teachers in international schools, highlighting the importance of teaching the subject through a global perspective. In her research, she emphasized how Social Studies educators play a pivotal role in fostering inclusive environments for all learners.

曹留社区 has published three of her books, which were used in the Elementary School curriculum for several years in the past:

Ms. Sophia Ponce Tsinakis was born in Houston, Texas, and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. She has earned a Master's in Elementary Education and a K-12 English Language Learners endorsement at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology - with a minor in Art Therapy - from Lesley University in Cambridge Massachusetts.

After teaching for four years at an innovative elementary public school in Nashville, Ms. Tsinakis joined the 曹留社区 faculty in 2018, originally teaching first grade during the 2018-2019 academic year and fifth grade during the 2019-2020 academic year. In September 2020, she transitioned into the position of JK-6 Literacy Coordinator to further the aims of 曹留社区 literacy program. The ultimate objective of the elementary ACS literacy program is the development of readers and writers across all the grade levels. To this end, she facilitates an ongoing collaborative literacy learning culture that aligns the school鈥檚 reading and writing curriculums (including Phonics and Grammar). Moreover, she champions teachers to support students in writing with fluency for an audience, about topics they care about. Lastly, she fortifies best instructional literacy practices through literacy coaching to bolster resilience, grit, and empathy in students to promote ethical decision-makers, strong relationships, and positive action.聽

During the 2022-2023 academic year she was interviewed for the 曹留社区 Owlcast (episode 16). She discussed her views about the worldwide ongoing evolution of literacy instruction, the building of the ES ACS literacy program, and coaching teachers in elevating their literacy instructional practices. In addition, she joined the Middle School in 2022 as a faculty member for two academic years. She relished the instructional focus on English, writing, composition, literature, and critical analysis. Alongside the expertise and collegiatelyof her grade 6 colleagues and the division chair, she contributed to the redesign and implementation of an enhanced grade 6 Language Arts syllabus.聽

Ms. Tsinakis has a great passion for teaching and her priority as an educator of young minds is to assist children of diverse backgrounds to find meaning, passion, and direction in their educational experience, and ultimately in their lives. Ms. Tsinakis is committed to fostering, inspiring, and sustaining high levels of authentic learning in all students as a path through which they become active, compassionate, independent, and global learners. Her continuous study of international literacy experts are a guiding influence in her inspired pursuit of refining and growing her literacy instruction.

Dr. Tonia Fyrigou is a Language Educator with extensive experience in teaching, curriculum design, and academic leadership. She earned her Bachelor鈥檚 degree in French Literature from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, followed by a Master鈥檚 degree in the History of French Civilization (2008) and a Ph.D. in the same field (2012).

Since joining 曹留社区 in 1999, Dr. Fyrigou has taught both Middle and High School students, serving as an IB teacher and examiner. From 2007 to 2016, she was the Chairperson of the Modern Languages Department, and in September 2025 she assumed聽 the role of Division Chair of Greek Language and Literature, further supporting the school鈥檚 mission and vision through academic leadership.

Beyond 曹留社区, Dr. Fyrigou serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Hellenic American University, where she teaches undergraduate courses in the Department of Interdisciplinary and Intercultural Studies. She has also fostered international collaborations, building educational partnerships with 螜cole de Longperrier in Paris and Li Po Chun United World College in Hong Kong.

Her professional work integrates innovative teaching practices, particularly through the i虏Flex methodology, which blends independent learning with guided instruction. She has designed and implemented French and Greek language and culture courses that reflect this approach. In addition, she has contributed chapters to Revolutionizing K-12 Blended Learning through the i虏Flex Classroom Model (2016, 2021), focusing on blended learning effectiveness and the Community of Inquiry framework.

A frequent presenter at international conferences, Dr. Fyrigou is a lifelong learner committed to excellence. Through her teaching, leadership, and collaborations, she brings ethos, creativity, and innovation to 曹留社区 while advancing the role of Greek and French language education in a global context.

Born in Canada and raised both in Montreal Quebec and in Athens Greece, Angela E. Chamosfakidis graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy, Pedagogy, Psychology (concentration in Psychology). For her Graduate studies, she attended McGill University in Canada where she received a Master鈥檚 Degree in Educational Psychology with a research focus on teachers' expectations for children of divorce. Whilst completing her Graduate studies Ms. Chamosfakidis taught in primary and secondary schools in the wider area of Montreal. Upon her return to Greece in 2003, Ms. Chamosfakidis accepted a position at KETHEA (Therapy Center for Dependent Individuals) where she led a team of professionals to provide educational and counseling services to adolescents and young adults with substance abuse problems, for over 10 years. As part of her professional development in the field of addiction, she received a post-graduate Certificate of Specialization in the "Administration and Social Planning in the field of Drug Addiction'' from the Athens School of Public Health in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego.

Since joining 曹留社区, in 2014, Ms. Chamosfakidis has been teaching IB Psychology and Theory of Knowledge. She also serves as an Advisor for the Model United Nations (MUN) club as well as the Intersection club: Where Biology meets Psychology. She has co-authored the book "Revolutionizing K-12 Blended Learning through the i2Flex Classroom Model" contributing to a new educational paradigm introduced by 曹留社区.

Ms. Chamosfakidis is passionate about teaching and learning and committed to supporting students and their individual needs. She holds a Teaching Certification by the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) and the Greek Ministry of Education and she is a certified IB Psychology Examiner (IBO).

Ms. Dimas holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the American College of Greece with High Distinction and a Master's degree in Museology from the University of Leicester with a concentration in Museum Education. Ms. Dimas received her teaching certification from the state of Florida and has completed the educator preparation institute at NCATE, the accredited Professional Education Unit of the University of West Florida. Most recently she has been working towards obtaining her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Curriculum Development at the University of Glasgow, and currently is in her final year. Prior to joining the 曹留社区 Faculty, Ms. Dimas worked with school and family groups at the Hellenic Children's Museum in Athens, specializing in inquiry-based learning and constructivist teaching models. Ms. Dimas was born and raised in Washington, DC.

Ms. Dimas taught kindergarten for two years and third grade for three; this will be her ninth year as a fifth-grade teacher. In addition to teaching, Ms. Dimas has contributed to 曹留社区 across the grade levels. She spearheaded the 鈥榠teach2鈥� project together with Ms. Moros in the second grade, the Writing in Action workshop with Ms. Zavacopoulou for middle school students, and the Architects of Global Conscious Citizenships Club with Ms. Rocha for fourth and fifth grade. For eleven years, Ms. Dimas has served as an advisor to the Forensics academic team, Group Discussion, working closely with academy and middle school students to realize their potential as conscious and active members of an ever-changing global community. For the past three years, she has been working towards expanding the Academy Forensics team to the Middle School and even into the upper Elementary School years. She also advises the Academy TED-Ed Club with Mr. Januzzi.聽

Ms. Dimas has presented at multiple workshops and conferences over the years. In 2013, she presented the 鈥榠teach2!鈥� initiative at the 8th annual Conference on Learning Differences (Innovative Teaching and Inclusive Learning) together with Ms. Sophia Moros. Ms. Dimas and Ms. Moros also represented 曹留社区 at the ECIS Early Childhood Conference in Zurich, showcasing the implementation of 鈥榠teach2!鈥� as a learning tool in elementary school classrooms. In September 2015, Ms. Dimas was invited to speak at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. at the annual International Council of Museums Conference on Education and Cultural Action. Here, she shared her work on the implementation of informal education learning techniques as teaching tools in a multicultural classroom setting.

At the 曹留社区 Colloquium in 2016, Ms. Dimas presented a Morphosis Talk together with Ms. Amalia Zavacopoulou. Under the heading of Teaching Writing to Think and Learn, she and Ms. Zavacopoulou analyzed the project "Making Stories at the Acropolis Museum," which they designed for the Academy Honors Humanities course. The initiative merged the writing process, informal learning resources, the course syllabus, and student ingenuity.

In 2017, Ms. Dimas wrote an essay, "Improving Multicultural Learning through Interpretations and Interactions with Museum Educational Practice," which was published in the Journal of Visual Literacy. In 2018 she served as the guest editor for a double issue of the same journal. She has also completed the Critical Friends Group Coaches Training and is an accredited coach for the National School Reform (NSRF). For the last seven years, Ms. Dimas has been an internal coordinator for the 曹留社区 Accreditation process. This is her second year as K鈥�6 Social Studies Coordinator.

Central to her work is the MBSE Methodology鈥攁 pioneering system she developed to promote holistic well-being by combining physical fitness with mental clarity and emotional balance. Drawing from her qualifications as a Happiness Coach, Breathwork Meditation Coach, and Energy Psychotherapy Advanced Healer, this transformative approach empowers individuals to achieve lasting happiness, stress relief, and personal growth.

Ms. Karatopouzi is also a certified Fitness and Arhatic Yoga Professional, helping individuals reach peak performance and spiritual alignment through the integration of movement, mindfulness, and energetic awareness. Her inspiring and compassionate teaching style has supported countless individuals in unlocking their full potential, building resilience, and fostering a deep connection to themselves.

In 2025, Ms. Karatopouzi expanded her innovative vision by creating an AI-powered wellness application, tailored to support holistic student development. She successfully piloted this technology through an action research paper implemented in her school, showcasing its potential to revolutionize student well-being and engagement.

For the 2025鈥�26 academic year, Ms. Karatopouzi continues her educational journey as a Middle School Physical Education Teacher, building on her prior experience at the elementary level. This transition reflects her commitment to guiding students through pivotal developmental stages, supporting them in cultivating physical strength, mental resilience, and emotional balance.

With a rich background that bridges education and wellness, Ms. Karatopouzi champions the belief that physical, mental, and emotional health are deeply interconnected鈥攁nd essential for living a purposeful, fulfilling life.

Sophia Stella Soseilos is the Visual and Performing Arts Division Chair of 曹留社区 since 2018. At the same time she is a High school Art Teacher and an IB Visual Arts Instructor. She has been to 曹留社区 since 2012. She is a Greek Cypriot who was born in Germany, lived in Cyprus, studied in South Africa and moved to Greece in 1995. She has a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Fine Arts from WITS University, South Africa, majoring in Painting and Theater Design and a Masters degree in Creative Writing from the University of Western Macedonia, in Greece.

She has worked as an Artist, Art Teacher, Interior Designer and Stage Designer for numerous theaters and TV Set Productions in Greece and Cyprus. She is also an author. She has short stories published in two books. Her book "When Color and Forms Become Words" was published in 2021. Most importantly Sophia Stella Soseilos has a passion for teaching Art. She embraces diversity, and has a great way of motivating and introducing creativity and design thinking into the education space. She is able to connect and communicate with her students. She defines targets and strategies and has the ability to convert vision to execution.
