Chytiroglou, Stella, Faculty, ESL

Ms. Stella Chytiroglou is an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teacher with a strong interest in language education, child development, and innovative approaches to learning. She has been actively involved in education since 2012, and prior to joining ACS, she was working in various educational institutions in Thessaloniki. 

A native of Thessaloniki, Greece, she holds a BA in English Language and Literature from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) certification from the United Kingdom. During her undergraduate studies, she spent a year in the Language Sciences Department at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Inspired by her experience there, she returned to Edinburgh to earn an MSc in Developmental Cognitive Science.

She is particularly interested in how children learn, think, communicate, and engage with educational experiences and her academic and professional work has explored innovative technologies and their potential to enhance learning. She is the recipient of the University of Edinburgh’s Highly Commended Dissertation Award for her research on children’s emotion regulation, while in 2022, she was awarded the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching (DAI) fellowship, through which she visited Arizona State University in Phoenix and conducted research into the use of immersive extended-reality (XR) technologies in educational settings.

As an educator, Stella is committed to nurturing the whole child and creating meaningful, engaging learning experiences. She sees language education as a powerful tool for fostering curiosity, confidence, communication, and intercultural understanding, inspiring students to become thoughtful and engaged citizens of the world.
