Venie Gaki was born in Ioannina, Greece, and holds a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics from the Hellenic American University (HAU) as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Classics from the University of Ioannina. During her undergraduate studies, she completed a one-year course in Classics at the University of Liverpool, UK. With extensive teaching experience, Venie has been a member of the 曹留社区 faculty since 2007, where she has taught English, Greek, and Social Studies. She has also taught Latin through the IIC, as well as History and Greek Language & Literature to IB students enrolled in the Greek Isotimia Program at 曹留社区.
Writing is one of Ms. Gaki’s greatest passions, allowing her to channel her creativity into plays, poems, song lyrics, and educational texts in both Greek and English. Many of her works are designed to enhance children’s understanding and retention of the languages they learn. For her Social Studies classes, she has adapted and simplified instructional materials for Middle School students with limited English proficiency, ensuring content is more accessible and inclusive.
Her Master’s dissertation focused on the role of Social Studies teachers in international schools, highlighting the importance of teaching the subject through a global perspective. In her research, she emphasized how Social Studies educators play a pivotal role in fostering inclusive environments for all learners.
曹留社区 has published three of her books, which were used in the Elementary School curriculum for several years in the past:
- 螤蔚蟻蟺伪蟿蠋谓蟿伪蟼 蟽蟿畏谓 螘位位维未伪 – a listening and speaking activities book.
